2010 Eisner Personal Tax Guide

A letter from the Managing Partner

Dear Clients and Friends:

We are pleased to announce the launch of our 2010 Personal Tax website, an easy-to-use online guide to year-round tax and financial planning.

When we issued last year’s guide, we expected to see wide-spread legislation on income taxes and health care. We had also expected that Congress would have passed estate and gift tax legislation during 2009 to prevent the scheduled repeal of the estate tax in 2010. The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 passed earlier this year, brought some $300 billion in tax relief. The legislation included a new Making Work Pay credit, enhancements to the child tax credit, a first-time homebuyer credit, an alternative minimum tax patch for 2009 and energy incentives. Other tax credits and tax law changes followed.

We have written this guide to provide you with a resource to understand the tax law changes over the last 12 months and to help you identify opportunities to save taxes, accomplish your financial goals, and preserve your family’s wealth. Eisner tax professionals look forward to providing tax planning assistance that will enable you and your family to take full advantage of the opportunities arising under these tax law changes to minimize your tax liabilities and maximize your wealth. As always, please call one of our dedicated tax professionals with any questions you may have.

Here’s to a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year.
